NEWCASTLE: Naturopath, author and broadcaster Jan de Vries will be in the town on Wednesday, June 29, to give a talk on how to live a healthy life.

The talk begins at 7pm in the Ramada, Clayton Road.

Mr de Vries will also meet customers in the Boots Herbal store between 9am and 1pm on Thursday, June 30.

All proceeds from the talk's �5 admission charge will go to Douglas MacMillan Hospice.

STAFFORD: More actors are needed for an open air musical production of Jesus Christ Superstar at the historic Ingestre Stables.

Cast members are needed for the roles of the 12 disciples in the production, from August 17 to 20.

Producer Tim Downes said: "This is a great opportunity to take part in this fabulous show in a unique setting. We are looking for actors aged 18 or over."

BIRCHES HEAD: A lunch event is being held on Saturday, June 11, at St Matthew's Church. Lunches will be served from noon.

AMERTON: The British Wildlife Rescue Centre is celebrating its 20th anniversary at Amerton Farm and Craft Centre on June 4 and 5 between 10am and 5.30pm.

There will be free entrance to all children who bring a present for the animals, which can be anything from a loaf of bread, bag of carrots, tin of dog/cat food or a squeaky toy.

Alf Hardy from the centre said: 'We are really pleased to be celebrating our birthday and are grateful for all the support we have received during our 20-year history. We are hoping all our friends will come along and say hello during the weekend."

There are several attractions at the centre, including the 'Prickly Hedgehog' game, tombola, raffle and a chance to get your photograph taken with the animals.
