A1 closed Southbound near Newark

THE A1 is closed southbound near North Muskham after an accident between three lorries and a van.

The accident happened at around 2.30pm at the junction with the A46, just outside Newark.

Police are directing traffic between the B6325 junction and Winthorpe Island, and diversions are in place.

Fire and ambulance crews are attending the incident.

It is not yet known whether there have been any injuries.
