Parliament Committee Approves Constitutional Council

The General Committee of the Icelandic parliament, Althingi, approved the suggestion that a Constitutional Council be held instead of the planned Constitutional Assembly; the plans for which were shattered after the Supreme Court invalidated the assembly election in January.
