Family's tribute to murdered 27-year-old Mansfield man

THE family of a man who died after being seriously assaulted in Mansfield have paid tribute to the "wonderful, fun-loving daddy."

Jonathan Turner, 27, was attacked outside The Social pub, in Stockwell Gate, in the early hours of Saturday.

He died in hospital on Sunday at about 8am.

In a statement released by Notts Police on the family's behalf, they said: "We would like to extend our sincere thanks to everyone who did what they could to help our son – the police officers first on the scene, paramedics, A&E staff and ITU medical and nursing teams.

"Thank you to all those who have laid floral tributes, cards, posted messages of love, phoned and visited us. Your love and support is a great comfort.

"We send our thoughts to all those who loved him and are grieving too.

"Jonathan was a wonderful fun-loving daddy, much loved son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew, cousin, and true friend. His loss is felt by so many."

Two more men have been arrested in connection with the murder of Mr Turner.

The men, aged 24 and 19 and believed to be from the local area, were arrested last night

They remain in police custody and will be questioned by detectives today.
