A LORRY driver arrested over the deaths of two motorists on the M6 was due to enter his plea at court today.
Malcolm Simpson has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving after a crash near junction 17, Sandbach, last September.
Motorists Philip Cawley and Thomas Southward died instantly after being hit by a lorry on the hard shoulder.
It is believed Mr Cawley, aged 39, and 69-year-old Mr Southward had stopped their vehicles on the hard shoulder when the tragedy struck.
The crash closed the northbound carriageway for 11 hours.
Simpson, aged 61, who lives in North Yorkshire, was due to enter his plea at Chester Crown Court.
