TRAIN users are being asked if they saw a racial assault at Nottingham's Midland station.
The victim, a 33-year-old African man, approached a car at the drop-off point at the entrance to speak to one of its passengers.
PC Christopher Adams, of British Transport Police, said: "He was subjected to a torrent of racial abuse by another man in the car.
"On CCTV footage taxis can be seen dropping off passenger and we would like to hear from anyone who may have witnessed the assault, particularly a man seen walking through the station and briefly speaking to the victim."
A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of racially-aggravated harassment and assault following the incident at around 9.30am on Sunday, December 19.
He has been released on police bail until February 2.
