Accra - Ghanaian President John Atta Mills made several minor changes to his Cabinet on Tuesday but signalled that he might soon announce more changes, according to a press release issued by his office.

The changes affected 10 ministries, including justice, interior and natural resources, but left unchanged key posts such as foreign affairs, defence and finance.

“Further ministerial as well as deputy ministerial appointments will be announced in due course,” said the release signed by JK Bebaako-Mensah, secretary to the president.

No reason was given for the changes, which follow criticism by opposition leaders that Mills's regime has been slow to enact social and economic reforms since taking office in January 2009.

The reshuffle included moving Martin Amidu to Attorney General and Justice Minister from Interior Minister and Betty Mould-Iddrisu to Education Minister from Attorney General.
