Judicial Council suspends Salami

The crisis that has rocked the nation?s Judiciary for several months reached a shattering climax yesterday when the National Judicial Council (NJC) suspended the President of the Court of Appeal Justice Ayo Isa Salami from office following his refusal to abide by the Council?s directive to tender apologies to it and to Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Justice Aloysius Katsina-Alu within a week. The NJC reached the decision in Abuja yesterday at its 7th Emergency Meeting.
