DRAINAGE improvement works are being carried out on part of the A500 following the death of a teenage driver.
The Highways Agency is closing the A500 between the A50 roundabout at Sideway and the Etruria junction from 9pm to 6am tonight, tomorrow and Friday.
The northbound entry sliproads at Wheildon Road, City Road and Shelton Old Road will also be closed during the works.
The improvements includes resurfacing the northbound carriageway and building new gullies to improve the drainage of surface water from the road.
It follows the death of father-of-one Nathan Foreman, of Fenton, who died in a crash near the Etruria junction on November 14, 2009.
An accident report disclosed at Nathan's inquest recommended the clearing of drains and the installation of barriers on that stretch.
