London - Dimitar Berbatov came off the bench to give Manchester United a 1-0 win over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday that put them five points clear in the Premier League while Arsenal rallied to draw at West Bromwich Albion.

Bulgarian Berbatov came on for Javier Hernandez at halftime and grabbed the points for United when he tapped in from close range in the 88th minute after keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen spilled Nani's shot.

That goal was made even more important after second-placed Arsenal staged a late comeback after finding themselves 2-0 down at West Brom.

Goals by Andrei Arshavin and Robin van Persie in the last 20 minutes cancelled out a third-minute effort from Steven Reid and a 58th-minute goal by Peter Odemwingie which came after a blunder by keeper Manuel Almunia.

United have 63 points from 30 matches while Arsenal are on 58 with a game in hand. Third-placed Manchester City (53) and Chelsea (51), in fourth, meet at Stamford Bridge on Sunday. – Reuters
